Class will be held at the Giles home in Debary, FL

Join us for a class on a native Florida plant called American Beautyberry. This plant is probably growing near your home, park or woods.

What families will learn in this class:

  • The history of Beautyberry and it’s origination.
  • What makes plants native.
  • How to identify it.
  • Uses for beautyberry for humans and animals.
  • How to cook with it.
  • How to make an effective bug repellent.

This fun, interactive outdoor class will delight you and your children with time in nature and learning to identify a common native plant that has many uses here in Florida.

Children ages 5 and up are welcome to participate with parental supervision. We will be using Isopropyl Alcohol and essential oils in our bug repellent.

To help you in your homeschool subject tracking this is the standard classification for Florida State Standards.
