Fridays March 15, 22, 29 April 5
10 am until 12 pm each day.
4 classes total. The first three will be at our home in Debary, the last will be a field day to put new skills into action. Current field day location for April 5 is Seminole Forest off of 46.
Field day class is for parents and children and will last from 10-1+. Siblings are invited to participate in the field day.
Children MUST be 12 years old or older to participate in the whole class.
What do you need to know to survive the outdoors?
Food Fire Water Shelter These will be the topics of our hands-on activities for each class.
Participants will be provided with supplies to build their survival pack each week.
Grayson Giles, 16, will be leading this class to build your child’s skills for outdoor survival. He has been honing his outdoor skills since he was 7 years old. He has experience in pioneer skills and hunting in backwoods areas of Florida with FWC, State of Georgia and family in Pennsylvania. There will be adult supervision right alongside Grayson for each class. Each class will be outdoors. Closed-toe shoes and appropriate attire to get dirty and or wet each week.
Participants should bring each week:
Pocket knife or multitool
Grayson has a recommendation for this knife if you do not have one. Morakniv Knife
water and snack
Last day to sign up or for refund is February 21st due to supply purchases.
A liability waiver must be signed for each participant and photo release. The children will be using knives, tools and building fire. Parents are welcome to stay on the porch while class is in session. You can leave the premises if you feel comfortable doing so.
We are unable to offer a sibling discount for this series due to the supplies provided for each student.
If you have younger children, we are 1 mile from Gemini Springs Park and 2 miles from the Debary Library. Local shopping centers available too. You are welcome to stay and hang out on the porch as well.
