10:00am – 12:30pm
Our home in Debary, FL 32713
Join the Giles family and friends to step back to old Florida where families gathered at their neighbors to help can their harvest. In these modern days, some old ways of living have gone away. Come learn how to preserve fruit from the grocery store, farmer’s market or u-pick farm. We will also discuss dehydrating and make granola bars.
Take home 2 jars of strawberry jam per purchased class ticket. Additional jars can be purchased for $5 per half pint pre-made variety of jams and butters.
We encourage you to go to a u-pick farm and pick your own strawberries this season if you have never done it before.
Purchase one ticket per participating child.
This class is for parent and child working together to learn this skill. You will be grouped with another family to make the jam. You will share the jars the children make.
Please make sure your email, phone, and address are provided along with each child’s name and age.
Refunds will not be given after the RSVP date of January 30.
Children must be 7 or older to participate due to boiling liquid and outdoor stove usage.
A liability and photography waiver must be signed by a parent at the class.
Wear closed-toed shoes and old clothing that can be stained. This class is outdoors.
