Fabric Hoop Ornament

Fabric hoop ornaments are easy and fun. Children of all ages can participate in cutting fabric and tying the fabric strips onto jar rings, curtain loops, and even old embroidery hoops. This is definitely a use-what-you-have project.

What you will need:

  • Rings of any kind. We used old jar rings but be creative and re-use something from around the house.
  • Fabric strips. We used scraps from projects and cut them 1″ wide and 7″ long. You will need 20
  • twine if you want to make a hanger.

In our video, Julia and Abby share their favorite memories from Little House in the Big Woods. They just finished our book club and this ornament has an old-fashioned pioneer feel to it. Scraps of fabric would not have been wasted and turning them into keepsake ornaments would have been fun for Laura and Mary to make.
