Turtle Watch Activity

A great way to have active play in your turtle lesson is to use curiosity and a few plastic eggs.

Gather:

3-5 plastic eggs

3-5 plastic turtles that will fit in the eggs

3 sticks or pieces of wood for stakes and string.

Fill each egg with a turtle or a cut out of a printed turtle. Recreate a turtle nest by digging a shallow hole in your backyard or in a sandbox. Place the eggs the hole and cover them. Use the stakes and string to show where the eggs are. Have your children dig for the eggs and open them up.

Print out Turtle Watch worksheet to discover more about sea turtles.

Our favorite storybook about turtles is Mossy by Jan Brett.
